Rhythm Interventions Online will return 29 November – 1 December 2023

Following the huge success of the first three annual editions, Rhythm Interventions Online (RIO) is firmly established as one of the leading virtual education events serving the global electrophysiology community and cardiac rhythm management communities.

Richard Schilling

Richard Schilling is Professor of Cardiology at Queen Mary University of London and Consultant Cardiologist at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, UK. He qualified from St Thomas’ Hospital, London in 1989 and was appointed at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London NHS Trust in 2001. Performing over 200 AF ablations each year, he uses the latest mapping techniques. A Past-President of the British Heart Rhythm Society, Prof Schilling is widely published around outcome improvements and safety of catheter ablation. His research interests include elucidating the mechanism of complex cardiac arrhythmia and the development of percutaneous treatments for them. He serves as Non-Executive Chairman of Rhythm AI and is a Founder and Commercial Director of One Welbeck Heart Health.

Jason Andrade
Jason Andrade

Vancouver General Hospital, Canada

Jason Andrade is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC), and an Adjunct Professor at the Université de Montréal. Dr Andrade is the Director of the Electrophysiology Program at VGH, as well as Head of the Atrial Fibrillation Clinic at VGH. He also serves as co-chair of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Atrial Fibrillation Guidelines committee, and as the medical lead for the atrial fibrillation care in the province of British Columbia. He previously served as chair of the education committee for the Canadian Heart Rhythm society. Dr Andrade has served as principal investigator of two ongoing multicenter clinical trials on cryoablation and has authored or co-authored over 120 scientific publications.

KR Julian Chun is Head of Cardiology at Med Klinik III, Markus Krankenhaus Frankfurt am Main, Germany, a position he had held since 2016. He also serves as academic lecturer at the University of Lübeck. Between 1998-2003 he worked at the Department of Cardiology, University of Lübeck, under Prof H Katus, and from 2003 in the Department of Cardiology, AK St Georg, Hamburg, under the direction of Prof Dr KH Kuck. He attended Medical University Lübeck, and studied internal medicine at Yale University, US. Prof Chun has authored and co-authored numerous manuscripts published in leading peer-reviewed journals.

Devi Nair is Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at St Bernard's Heart and Vascular Center, Arkansas, US. She also serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr Nair is an international leader in cardiac rhythm management with cardiac devices and cardiac ablation therapy, and has authored and co-authored numerous papers in leading international journals. Dr Nair attended medical school at University of Kerala, India, before completing a residencies at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and St Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center, NY, and fellowships at Case Western Reserve University.

Roderick Tung

Dr Tung is affiliated with The University Of Chicago Medical Center and has authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles and participated in 8 clinical trials in the past 15 years. In particular, he has co-authored 101 articles and participated in 1 clinical trial in the study of ventricular tachycardia (VT).

Cardiology is Dr Tung’s main specialty, whilst his two subspecialties are general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology. He is an expert in the management of heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias), with a particular focus on advanced therapies for atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias. He specialises in arrhythmia management through catheter ablation — a procedure that targets and cauterises abnormal tissue to eliminate heart rhythm irregularities.
